In 2007, in his book Living Electronic Music Simon Emmerson proposed his local/field model as a means of encapsulating the unique audiovisual language of live sonic arts. The spatial construct, while devastatingly simple on one hand, may be expounded to reveal numerous profound dimensions on the other presenting detailed techniques and a unilateral approach to art-making that must be adhered to to achieve success.
